“Just had my septic tank pumped out, great service and fast! I called up a few days ago to make an appointment and they were able to get me scheduled 2 business days later for the pump out. Both guys that did the job were very nice and professional and took several measures to make sure that everything was clean just the way it was before they came. I definitely recommend Mueller Septic Services to anyone out there that needs any type of septic work done. A++ Service! Great job!”

Pumping, emergencies, and filters, and that's the list
We don't try to be everything. We pump tanks faster and cleaner than anyone in the Piedmont, and we install the filter that protects your drain field from costly failure.
Septic Tank Pumping
The core service. Most homes need a pump every 3–5 years. We arrive on time, locate the tank, pump it cleanly, and give you an honest assessment of system condition.
Emergency Septic Pumping
When a system backs up into the home or yard, you don't have time to wait. Call us and we'll dispatch the truck as soon as possible. Emergency pricing is quoted at the time of the call based on tank size, location, and access.
Septic Filter Service
A septic effluent filter catches solids before they reach your drain field, one of the most common causes of drain field failure. We install new filters and clean existing ones. New filter is $199 when installed during a pump-out, and cleaning an existing filter is free with a pump-out.
Clear prices, posted upfront.
A standard pump-out for a 1,000-gallon tank is $370.
Larger tanks add $100 per 250 extra gallons. If your lid is buried and we need to dig, that's an extra $45. Add a new effluent filter for $199 with a pump, or have your existing one cleaned free.
Emergency pricing varies by access and tank. Call 336-600-3290 for a same-day quote.

Trusted by Piedmont families for 30+ years
Mueller Septic Services served the NC Piedmont for three decades. Palmer Septic Services continues that work, same trucks, same people, same standards.
“My septic tank was full and I called Mueller to come and pump it out. They came Monday and found that the tank was buried really deep (3ft+). He told us they would have to bring out an excavator to dig it up, which was totally understandable. He was out here the next day with his guys and had it dug up, pumped and covered back in less than an hour. Excellent company with good people that I will be using in the future. Thanks Mueller!”
“I just had my septic tank pumped out today. Mike and Chris arrived on time and were totally professional. Recommended!”
“Great service. Fast and was actually early and was half the price another company was going to charge me when I bought my new home. If I ever need it again I will def call them again. Recommend to anyone!”
“Very Good SERVICE! I rarely will give this rating but I can say I will trust no one else in the neighboring areas. Came the same day, the day before Thanksgiving!”
“They were prompt and did quality work. I would definitely use them again.”
“On time, friendly employees, fair price, good work. Will use them again.”
“Honest and fair pricing. Work is tip top. Call them first.”
“Honest and great to work with. We will use them again.”

How much does it cost to pump a septic tank in North Carolina?+
At Palmer Septic, a standard 1,000-gallon pump-out is $370 flat. Larger tanks add $100 per additional 250 gallons of capacity. If your tank lid is buried and we have to dig to reach it, that's an additional $45. You can also add a new septic effluent filter for $199 during a pump-out, or have an existing filter cleaned free.
What towns and counties does Palmer Septic serve?+
We serve all of Stokes County (including Walnut Cove, King, Pinnacle, Danbury, Germanton), Forsyth County (Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Lewisville, Kernersville, Pfafftown, Bethania), Guilford County (Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Summerfield, Oak Ridge), and Rockingham County (Reidsville, Madison, Mayodan, Eden, Wentworth) in North Carolina.
How often should I pump my septic tank?+
Most homes need a pump every 3 to 5 years. The exact interval depends on tank size and household size. Palmer Septic sends automatic pump-due reminders to past customers so you stay on schedule without having to remember.
Do you offer emergency or same-day septic service?+
Yes. If your system is backed up, call 336-600-3290 and we'll dispatch the truck as soon as possible. Emergency pricing is quoted at the time of the call based on tank size and access.
Are Palmer Septic and Mueller Septic the same company?+
Yes. On April 25, 2026, longtime owner Mike Mueller transferred Mueller Septic Services to Charles Palmer. Same truck, same crew, same Walnut Cove yard, same phone number. The brand is new and we added online booking and transparent pricing, but everything customers loved about Mueller is the same.
What is a septic effluent filter, and do I need one?+
An effluent filter sits in your septic tank's outlet and catches solids before they reach the drain field. A clogged or missing filter is one of the most common causes of drain field failure, and a replacement drain field can cost thousands. Palmer Septic installs a new filter for $199 during a pump-out ($500 on its own), and cleans an existing filter free with any pump-out.
Mueller Septic Services is now Palmer Septic
On April 25, 2026, longtime owner Mike Mueller transferred Mueller Septic Services to local owner Charles Palmer. The truck, the customer relationships, the phone number, and the standards all stay the same.
What changes: online booking, transparent pricing by service area, proactive maintenance reminders, and an even faster phone pick-up. Mike continues to refer pumping customers to Palmer and is on call to support the team during the transition.
