Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Palmer Environmental & Septic LLC (“Palmer Septic,” “we,” “us,” “our”) operates https://palmerseptic.com and provides residential septic pumping services in North Carolina. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using our site or booking a service, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address.
- Service information: service address, tank size, last pump date, access notes, photos you choose to send us.
- Payment information: handled directly by our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal). Card numbers, bank account details, and payment credentials are NEVER stored on our servers or seen by Palmer Septic staff. We only receive a confirmation that payment succeeded plus the last 4 digits of the card for receipt purposes.
- Financing applications: if you apply for financing through Wisetack, you provide information directly to Wisetack and their underwriting partners. We are not party to that data exchange.
Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, timestamps. Standard server logs retained 30 days for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies and analytics: we use first-party cookies needed for site functionality, plus a small number of third-party analytics and advertising technologies — see Section 5 for the full list. These help us understand how visitors find and use the site and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
2. How we use your information
- To schedule, dispatch, and complete the work you requested.
- To send appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups.
- To send invoices and process payments through our payment processors.
- To send routine pump reminders so your system stays on schedule (typically every 3 to 5 years). You can opt out at any time.
- To improve our service, route planning, and customer experience.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax records, regulatory inspections).
3. SMS and text-message consent
When you provide your phone number through our booking form or by phone, you consent to receive SMS messages from Palmer Septic Services for transactional purposes: appointment confirmations, day-before reminders, en-route notifications, and follow-ups about completed work. Standard message and data rates may apply. We send a typical maximum of 4 messages per booking. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of all future SMS messages, or HELP for assistance. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to receive service from us; we will reach you by phone or email instead.
SMS messages are sent through Twilio. We do not share your phone number with marketing partners or use it for promotional messages.
4. Email communications
When you provide an email address, you consent to receive transactional emails (booking confirmations, invoices, service reminders) from Palmer Septic Services. We send these in compliance with the federal CAN-SPAM Act. Every email includes an unsubscribe link or instructions to reply UNSUBSCRIBE. Emails are sent through Resend.
5. Who we share your information with
We share information only with service providers needed to operate our business:
- Payment processors: Stripe (cards, bank transfers) and PayPal (PayPal balance, Pay in 4) handle all payment data directly. They are PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
- Financing partners: Wisetack handles financing applications independently. We receive a yes/no funded notification only.
- Communication providers: Resend (email), Twilio (SMS).
- Calendar / scheduling: Google Calendar (for our internal dispatch system). Booking details we receive from you are added to a private calendar visible only to Palmer Septic staff.
- Hosting: Vercel (web hosting), GoDaddy (domain).
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4. We use it to count visitors and understand which pages and traffic sources perform best. IP addresses are anonymized. We do not use Google Analytics data for cross-site advertising.
- Advertising measurement: the Nextdoor advertising pixel. When we run ads on Nextdoor, this pixel tells us whether a visit or booking came from one of those ads, so we can measure whether the advertising is working. It may set cookies. We do not upload your name, phone, or email to Nextdoor.
- Search: Google Search Console, which reports the search queries that lead people to our site. This is aggregate data; it does not identify you.
- Legal and tax: our accountant and any government authority that legally compels disclosure (e.g., subpoena, tax audit).
We do not sell your personal information. We use the analytics and advertising-measurement tools above only to run and improve our own business — counting visits, seeing which ads work, and improving the site. We do not allow these providers to use your data to build profiles of you for unrelated advertisers.
You can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies using your browser’s privacy settings, a tracker-blocking extension, or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Opting out does not affect your ability to book or receive service.
6. Google API user data
Our booking system uses Google Calendar API (via a service account) to manage internal appointment scheduling. We do not request access to any customer’s Google account. We do not transfer Google user data to third-party AI models. Our use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Data retention
- Customer service records: kept indefinitely so we can provide accurate service history and warranty support on past work.
- Payment records: kept for 7 years to comply with tax law.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Marketing preferences: kept until you change them.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information (subject to our legal obligations to retain records).
- Opt out of marketing communications.
- For California residents: rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email help@palmerseptic.com or call 336-600-3290. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information: HTTPS encryption site-wide, secure password storage, and limited access to customer data on a need-to-know basis. Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS-certified processors and never touches our servers. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
10. Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for property owners aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
11. Customer records from Mueller Septic Services
As part of the April 25, 2026 asset purchase agreement, customer records from Mueller Septic Services were transferred to Palmer Septic Services. Those records are subject to this Privacy Policy from the date of transfer forward. Former Mueller customers may request to be removed from our records by contacting us at the address below.
12. Third-party links
This site links to third-party services (Stripe, PayPal, Wisetack, GoDaddy, Vercel, etc.). When you follow a link to one of those sites, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated by updating this page and, where appropriate, notifying customers by email.
